Our Lady of Fatima appeared in Fatima, Portugal to 3 children, beginning on May 13, 1917. Our Lady appeared many times. She promised that she would perform a miracle. On October 13, 1917, she fulfilled her promise to a crowd of more than 70,000 people. They witnessed the Miracle of the Sun. A replica of the Miracle is embedded on the wall of the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Boston, MA.
The message was not only for the children. It is also for the world. It was for this reason that the Crusaders of Fatima came into existence in Boston. It was in 1957 that the First Saturday Group started their First Saturday Devotion. The devotion consisted of a Mass at 9:00 AM followed by the rosary at 10:00 AM. A Candlelight Procession was also celebrated on the 13th of each month between May to October.
The Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Brighton was made to provide people a place to pray. Today the Shrine is open from 10:00 AM-6:00 PM everyday Monday to Sunday. A rosary for World Peace is said every Sunday at 3:00 PM.
There were many men and women of hope who made the Shrine available for us. They knew the Message of Peace and the importance thereof in the future. They believed that we would need a place such as the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima.
The message of Our Lady of Fatima… “I am the Lady of the Rosary…When my Immaculate Heart triumphs…Then, there will be Peace.”
May 13, 2017 marked the 100th anniversary of the Apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima.
